Responsibilities
* Serving as a core member of an engineering team that designs and develops software applications. * Having a basic understanding of the main concepts of Pega PRPC, their features and limitations. * Writing code and unit tests, working on specs, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing. * Identifying exciting opportunities for adopting new technologies to solve existing needs and predicting future challenges. * Performing ongoing refactoring of code, utilizing visualization and other techniques to fast-track concepts, and delivering continuous improvement. * Working with product managers to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and manages a list of technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects, and issues. * Provides input into functional specifications, design models, and system workflows from which software applications will be developed and implemented. * Applies structured programming techniques, develops and maintains code, and adheres to documented coding standards. * Develops unit test plans for assigned applications, solutions or projects. * Fosters and maintains good working relationships with customers and colleagues to meet expected service levels. * Maintains WellCare Information Systems (IS) development standards and best practices. * Completes time estimates for assigned tasks * Assists in writing on-line help manuals, user manuals and FAQs for specific software projects. * Effectively convey updates and project status to peers and management. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Candidate Education:** * Required A Bachelor's Degree in **Candidate Experience:** * Preferred 1 year of experience in Healthcare * Preferred 1 year of experience in Experience as a software engineer * Required No Experience **Candidate Skills:** * Intermediate Demonstrated interpersonal/verbal communication skills * Intermediate Demonstrated written communication skills * Intermediate Ability to work as part of a team * Intermediate Ability to work in a matrixed environment * Intermediate Demonstrated project management skills * Intermediate Ability to drive multiple projects * Ability to analyze and interpret financial data in order to coordinate the preparation of financial records * Ability to analyze and interpret financial data in order to coordinate the preparation of financial records **Licenses and Certifications:** * A license in one of the following is required: **Technical Skills:** * Preferred Beginner Visual Basics .Net * Preferred Beginner ASP.Net * Preferred Beginner Oracle Database Management System (DBMS) * Preferred Beginner Unified Modeling Language (UML) * Preferred Beginner XML/HTML * Preferred Beginner PL SQL * Preferred Beginner SQL Server System * Preferred Beginner Other Proficient with the use and development of Use Case. * Preferred Beginner Other Proficient in the use of both structured and object oriented systems analysis, design, development tools, and techniques. * Required Intermediate Other Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.
