Summary
At Trillium, we assist our clients in finding just the right candidates to fit their needs! Our client is currently looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join their team on a full-time salary basis, which includes excellent benefits and a great work-life balance. The individual will play a key role in ensuring that our client’s data teams continue to be a valued and trusted technology partner within their organization. They are seeking an IT professional with enterprise level business/data analyst experience and a passion for delivering great customer service.
Responsibilities
* Partner with business units in understanding our data environment and capabilities. * Understand and elicit data requirements using interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, stories, scenarios, business analysis, and workflow analysis. * The individual will act as a liaison between technology teams and internal business units. * The data analyst may also assist in identifying data quality problems and in determining options for how they will be handled. * The individual will also play a role in testing and validation and in delivering user training and communications * Function as a subject matter expert on our data, processes, and business methodologies * Collect multiple streams of data and decompose them into concise specifications * Collaborate with technical experts and business units to determine the best possible reporting mechanisms * Counsel/Advise partners/users on data capabilities and potential short-comings.
Ideal Candidate
* Must have solid verbal and written communication, organization, and time management skills * Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with other department personnel * Must be collaborative in driving decisions with the ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines * Must be "self-motivated" as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems * Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail\ * Working experience in Agile/Scrum environment is preferred * Passion to proactively seek ways to improve processes * Self-confidence to be assertive when taking a position and can constructively resolve problems * Creative, resourceful and innovative at tackling complex challenges. * Self-taught and self-teaching, with a demonstrated aptitude for acquiring knowledge and skills and new technologies readily * Organized and self-directing with the ability to identify priorities and mobilize projects in an orderly fashion to achieve desired results * Exceptional Analytical and problem solving skills * The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts * Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL. * Minimum 2 years of experience in a Data Warehouse and/or BI Analysis role * Solid understanding of database structures and fundamentals * Experience with Teradata or Oracle platforms * Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
