Responsibilities
* Volt is looking for qualified Medical Billing Specialists to join our team. This position requires completing the Medicaid billing processes/edits accurately and timely for specific clients. This candidate will analyze, research and prepare the claims for Medicaid or Medicare on responsible section of accounts receivable. * Must be timely and accurately, guaranteeing early turnaround of accounts receivable and maximum collections.
Ideal Candidate
* Responds to all inquiries, billing denials, and other correspondence and phone requests in an efficient and effective manner. * Attach necessary documentation when mailing claims to payors. (i e EOBs, medical records, itemized statements, etc.) * Makes telephone inquiries, according to policy, on delinquent claims. Involves the patient as allowable under contract. Maintains excellent rapport with the customer in this process. * Maintains established departmental and institutional policies and procedures. * Resolves problem accounts independently using sound judgment and following established policies and procedures in a timely manner while meeting established productivity goals. * Documents activity within client's patient accounting system. * Continues education in rules and regulations governing the processing of accounts receivable by respective financial class(s). * Maintains all reports, files, and records as needed in position. * Locates, photo copies, faxes, analyzes EOB's to determine appropriate reimbursement by insurance carriers. * Represents company as a liaison between the client's business office and applicable to on-site personnel only. * Performs all duties at clients site-applicable to on-site personnel only. * Works as patient account representative as needed. * High school diploma or GED * Minimum of one and a half (1.5) to two (2) years' experience working with Medicaid or Medicare insurance billing or follow-up in a clinic, hospital or insurance company setting. * Must demonstrate understanding of various billing forms, codes and their use. * Must demonstrate understanding of specific Medicare or Medicaid terminology and abbreviations. * Must demonstrate understanding of commercial, Medicare and Medicaid remittance advises in detail. This includes all remittance codes. * Must be able to re-bill insurances appropriately. * Must demonstrate understanding of correct adjustments, co-insurance and contractual allowance for commercial, Medicare and Medicaid accounts. * Must understand and be able to bill secondary insurance. * Must pass pre-employment insurance exam with a score of 85% or better.
