Summary
To provide senior level technical lead services, including the direction, evaluation, selection, configuration, implementation, and integration of new or existing technologies and tools for Global Production Support (GPS). To analyze data and informational requirements and provide the best solutions to internal Vanguard clients.
Responsibilities
* Leads the most complex, technical projects and supports daily operations within GPS. Working independently with minimal guidance, anticipates and mitigates issues so disruption is avoided or impact is minimal. * Operates in a key contact role for an assigned business area and manages relationships with business partners. Represents the business area and addresses all of their issues and concerns from a system perspective. Communicates and prioritizes production issues. Provides status and resolution updates. Re-prioritizes tasks in a tight time frame to provide optimal service to our clients. * Serves as primary contact with Support Center, PC/LAN Technical Services and other central support departments. * Translates and adapts technical information effectively for all audiences. Independently answers inquiries regarding system and business functionality. Provides end-user support by responding to daily written and verbal inquires about various production and non-production issues. * Analyzes business impact of potentially serious technology/security problems that may have a negative impact on business operations and provides detailed information to the management team. * Serves as a technical expert in the department and helps to technically guide and support less tenured team members. Mentors, leads, and motivates team members through daily operational needs, business processes, and standards. * Researches short term/long term strategic technical solutions to meet department needs. Represent department internally and cross organizational boundaries to achieve results. * Provides strategic design, engineering, and implementation services for GPS system monitoring, system automation, and application performance management agenda. Creates and manages an extensible management framework for incident detection and automated response. Evaluates the framework for gaps and researches the industry for solutions. * Integrates systems monitoring and automation solutions into operational processes. Develops and delivers training curriculum to team in both formal and informal settings. Provides consulting services for efficient integration into processes. * Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Undergraduate degree in a related field; Masters degree preferred. * Minimum of five years of experience with system monitoring, system management and automation tools including Tivoli, TeamQuest, PerfMon, HP UFT, Aternity, Tea Leaf, BMC Capacity Optimization Tool. Experience with Splunk, COGNOS Report Studio, and Tableau preferred. * Strong written and oral communication skills. * Strong, demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills. * Strong planning and organizational skills. * Advanced knowledge of current versions of the following products: Microsoft Office Suite, VISIO.
