Responsibilities
The Sales Manager's position is accountable for planning and coordinating, marketing efforts, and directing aggressive sales, service and parts sales within the dealership territory to ensure maximum customer sales contact, satisfaction, and product performance. This position supervises the activities of the sales force in selling irrigation products and services. The Sales Manager's principal accountability is to maximize the opportunity within the dealership by effective leadership and training of the sales staff to increase market share. The Sales Manager coordinates policies, programs, objectives, and procedures as they apply to the marketing of irrigation products, services, parts, technology and the adoption of innovation. This position requires knowledge and experience that includes but is not limited to irrigation product knowledge, field measurements and surveys, site preparation, subcontractor oversight, ancillary system design, quote development, product presentation to the customer, contract requirements, billing procedures, sales follow up, and customer service. This is to be accomplished in a manner which increases the overall success of Valmont Northwest Inc. and maximizes sales and market share.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree * Seven (7) years of relevant professional experience * Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite * Valid US driver’s license and an acceptable driving record * Previous supervisory or management experience **Basic Qualifications (Required):** * The ability to work independently and build relationships * The ability to effectively motivate, develop and direct sales staff * The ability to schedule and assign daily workload without supervision or direction * The ability to work quickly and efficiently with employees, suppliers, suppliers and vendors * The ability to organize and manage multiple, simultaneous priorities * Strong customer relation and communication skills * Strong leadership, problem solving and planning skills * Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines * Knowledge of the material, costs, techniques and processes used within the Sales area * Judgment and decision making skills while comparing relative cost and benefit potential * Deductive reasoning ability to formulate answers to specific questions that make sense * The ability to manage and work within departmental budget guidelines * Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results **Preferred Qualifications (Optional):** * Sales Management experience within the Agriculture or Irrigation industry
