Accounts Receivable Clerk

Vaco Staffing is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk for a contract to permanent opportunity with our client in Memphis, TN. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will organize and record receivables as well as analyze customer accounts to develop payment plans in a professional manner. 3-5 years' commercial experience is required; business or related degree is preferred.

* Post customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit card transactions. * Review revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits. * Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices. * Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, customer service departments, and from customers. * Resolve valid or authorized deductions by following pending deductions. * Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts, coordinating monthly transfer to receivable accounts, verifying totals, preparing report. * Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department. * Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

* Business or related degree preferred. * 3-5 years' experience in business to business or commercial transactional accounting. * Intermediate PC and MS Excel skills. * Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. * Knowledge of SAP is preferred. * Capable of learning and using proprietary system with minimal supervision. * Ability to prioritize job functions and demonstrate flexibility in performing essential functions.
