Summary
This functional manager's leadership responsibilities include: Engineering development program responsibilities; Planning and executing program support requirements in electrical, packaging, EMI, and Reliability Maintainability & Sustainability (RM&S); Direct supervision of a professional engineering staff, and support of departmental as well as site objectives
Responsibilities
The candidate must manage many tasks simultaneously, lead a team of direct and indirect engineers and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. In addition the candidate should have the ability to create or modify standard work along with the implementation and control of internal processes. The Engineering Manager of Electrical, EMI and RM&S will be responsible for directing the work of Actuation and Propeller Systems (APS) Rockford Engineers on this team. In this role, the incumbent will act to ensure their engineers and leads are driving their projects to successful completion On-Time and On-Budget. The successful candidate will drive process standardization and coach and mentor their team for success.
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles of increasing responsibility: project engineer, integrated project team leader, and/or engineering manager -Excellent communication skills - oral and written -10+ years experience with demonstrated leadership in planning and executing the design and development of aerospace equipment and systems -Teamwork across departments and business units -Experience working in global engineering environment -Demonstrated teamwork, process refinement, resilience and decision making skills -Ability to perform in a highly demanding work environment -Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships on all levels (engineer, management, senior levels of engineering, legal/finance, customer, etc.) -UTC ACE Associate desired -Applicant must qualify for access to U.S. export-controlled technology.
