Summary
Perform routine cleaning activities to ensure that the community apartments meet cleaning, appearance, and operational standards established by the organizations.
Responsibilities
* Clean rugs, carpet and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers. Clean and dust counters and appliances. * Sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. * Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, polishing as necessary. * Clean and sanitize toilets, bathtubs, showers, and appliances. * Perform basic service duties such as, checking and testing electrical appliances, lights, and outlets. * Maintain cleaning tools and equipment and ensure that they are in proper working order. * Request cleaning supply replacement and assist in stocking inventory. * Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Ideal Candidate
**Performance Requirements:** * Knowledge of organization and community policies and procedures. Knowledge of an ability to follow proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, community, and departmental policies, procedures and standards. * Demonstrated ability to understand and comprehend instructions. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, associate/resident/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the Supervisor. Ability to respond to questions or work scheduling issues. * Knowledge of cleaning machines, cleansers, and tools. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The ability to exert muscle force to lift, transport, and push a vacuum cleaner, power waxer/polisher or mop. * Ability to be pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Ability to proactively recognize and implement superior customer service to internal and external customers. **Typical Physical Demands:** * Ability to physically access exterior and interior parts of the community and amenities. Regular bending, stooping, pushing and stretching. Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Physical presence onsite is required to perform essential job functions unless otherwise noted. **Typical Working Conditions:** * Periodic exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, odors, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous. Flexible schedules with occasional evening and regular weekend work. **Education and Experience:** * High School Diploma or its equivalent preferred. * Minimum of two years of relevant experience in housekeeping with a preference for apartment or hotel experience. * Working knowledge of cleaning materials and equipment. * Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license unless otherwise noted.
