Summary
Trustwave is seeking a motivated and talented transactional attorney to join its Chicago-based Legal team as a Legal Associate. The Legal Associate will work on a wide range of commercial contracts as part of Trustwave’s in-house attorney team. This position will be responsible for contract management, drafting, negotiating and management of the contract lifecycle and will interact frequently with sales, sales operations, finance, and employees in multiple Trustwave business units and functions. In particular, this position will focus on sales agreements for Trustwave’s compliance and risk services and managed security offerings (including master services agreements, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, etc.).
Responsibilities
The Legal Associate is responsible for preparing and negotiating contracts in partnership with business teams around the world to accomplish clear understanding of commitments, balancing of risk between the company and the customer/vendor, timely billing and payment, positive customer relations and accurate communication with the internal organization. The Legal Associate may also assist the Legal team with other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be pro-active, highly analytical, and a driven self-starter with superior problem-solving and communications skills. Experience in a top law firm and/or significant in-house contract negotiation experience for a sales-focused company is preferred. * Juris Doctor Degree * Bar Admission in Illinois * 3 to 5 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation * Meticulous attention to detail * Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects * Superior communication skills in written and oral presentation * Ability to partner collaboratively with internal business teams * Technology, information security and/or cybersecurity experience is a plus * Mix of law firm and in-house experience is also a plus. We prefer college-educated applicants, but at minimum, high school diploma or equivalent is required for employment.
