Responsibilities
  • Lead and conduct Testing Activities
  • Responsible for the full testing lifecycle from testing approach definition, through test case identification, test case creation, testing execution, and testing closeout
  • Assist in the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of program defects
  • Utilize software tools to create, organize and update project tasks, issues, test plans, etc.
  • Participate as an integral and enthusiastic part of the team, exhibiting ownership, follow through, initiative, awareness, and effective communication with peers and management
  • Serve as a mentor to other members of the QA Team, helping to increase their knowledge of QA processes, best practices, and tools
  • Must understand fast-paced, agency environment
  • Must be willing to "switch gears" with very little notice on projects
Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 3 years experience demonstrating business acumen related to testing complex computerized business systems, web pages, and/or mobile apps
  • Experience in leading one or more other testers to execute project-related tests or tasks
  • Experience in requirement gathering/understanding, resulting in test case creation
  • Without supervision, designs test cases and test scripts (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability, and portability), based on functional and technical specifications
  • Ability to use various software (e.g. MS Office or other Office Suite, JIRA , etc.) to coordinate projects and produce test activity results
  • Identifies and reports issues and risks associated with assigned area
  • Proficient in basic testing methodologies and incorporation of unit tests into software products to aid in product qualification
  • Able to test across multiple applications including the integrations points of those applications
  • Exhibit a demeanor of professional pessimism; i.e., in a pleasant and non-confrontational fashion work with determination to find, document, and advocate the repair of bugs
  • Understand the role of testing within the software development lifecycle and business-related project constraints, and effectively advocate for the best possible customer experience of product quality within those parameters
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Agile process management philosophy
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools/suites
