Sr Staff IT Architect

* Plan and recommend server and network hardware, software, and systems architecture for assigned projects. This task includes providing high-level solution planning, detailed design, and performance optimization * Approve or modify existing system design and architecture plans and documentation to ensure forward compatibility and compliance with established standards * In concert with the various Operations Support and Engineering teams, develop and document overall strategies and direction for infrastructure systems and datacenter design using current and emerging technologies * Research, assess and recommend new technologies as necessary to sustain the current requirements, as well as anticipate the future needs and capacity of the Company s infrastructure and network * Lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems problems using solid systems architectural and systems engineering principles * Bridge the technical gap between our internal business partners, application developers and application support staff and our infrastructure operations and engineering teams * Provide advice and assistance on relevant technical subjects to infrastructure and global IT management and executive leadership * May take on role of Technical and/or Process Leader for enterprise-wide assignments

* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Advanced degree in a technical field is definite plus * At least 2 year of direct and recent experience working as a Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect within a defined framework. Experience working within a published Enterprise framework such as TOGAF, FEAF, or DoDAF is a plus * At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing complex IT systems in a corporate environment. Background working with diverse OS platforms is a plus * At least 5 years of background experience as a systems administrator, network engineer or database administrator in a large and diverse corporate environment * At least 5 years of experience configuring systems using network-based storage solutions (SAN and NAS), locally or globally Load-balanced front ends, and * Demonstrated ability to strategically plan current and future datacenter environments, allowing for future technology and business design changes to create stable yet flexible solutions * Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, then design, document, and implement all facets of the supporting infrastructure for new or expanded systems in a corporate environment * Demonstrated ability to lead a team of experienced technicians and senior systems engineers in pursuit of defined goals and objectives * Demonstrated ability to draft and formalize all types of technical documentation * Expert understanding of current industry topics such as Cloud Computing. SaaS/IaaS, Big Data and Enterprise Service Bus architecture * Expert understanding of system flows, engineering documentation, tools and architecture concepts * Knowledge of networking protocols, LAN/WAN routing and optimization, and firewall technologies * Knowledge of current Security and Regulatory compliance issues and programs (SOX, PCI, HIPAA, FDA Validation) * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations to executives and business staff within the organization * Proficient in MS Office and Visio. Background experience with an architecture diagramming tool (e.g. Sparx EA, ArchiMate, EA Composer) is preferred
