Systems Engineer

An electric generation and transmission cooperative located in Springfield, IL, is seeking an IT Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will be located at our Springfield, IL office and will be responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing server systems, systems infrastructure, and application components.

* Install, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS SQL, and MS Windows, and Linux servers * Install, secure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain VMware systems * Install, secure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Storage Area Network (SAN) systems * Install, secure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain other applications and systems as assigned. * Monitor and maintain multi-site technology network/server operations, software applications, and operating systems * Assist in the maintenance, patching, and support of server and workstation OS and application software * Support telephony, mobile, video, and wireless communication systems * Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, and PPI Member Co-Op staff for technical assistance and support * Perform after-hours equipment installation and maintenance and respond to after-hours equipment/service interruptions. Some travel is required * Resolve help desk tickets as assigned * Ensures compliance to standards for all systems administered * Other duties as assigned by management

* Requires a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or other computer related field * Must have 5+ years of experience in an IT environment administering and supporting systems infrastructure * Must have 3+ years of experience administering Microsoft Windows servers * Team oriented with collaborative working style. * Self-motivator that manages time well and can manage multiple tasks concurrently. * Proven analytical problem solving skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Team oriented with collaborative working style. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent customer service skills. * MCSA certification or equivalent * Valid Illinois Class D Driver's License
