JOIN US AS A- Sr. Cloud Deployment Engineer Join an exciting, empowered, and fast-moving team that is driving the edge of innovation and transformation at Target as we prepare to adopt and move our Target.com e-commerce website to public cloud platforms. We are looking for a highly creative and motivated individual who can both lead and implement, is eager to learn, and wants to help build the culture, practice, and craft of both cloud and DevOps at Target. The key to the success of this position is having courageous & innovative approach to problem solving, deep engineering expertise, collaboration, and a self-motivated working style with attention to detail.
Responsibilities

As a Sr. Cloud Deployment Engineer, you will…** * Work as part of our Cloud Continuous Delivery product team to ensure that our full-stack CI/CD and release management products and capabilities align with actual developer needs and pain points * Design and build overall cloud platform capabilities to enable faster innovation, accelerate time-to-market for all of our consumer experiences, and deliver industry leading omnichannel experiences * Work closely with application teams looking to adopt and migrate to cloud to ensure they are well-architected and suited for cloud deployment, and that their full-stack deployments are automated, tested, and instrumented through our CI/CD platforms * Partner with our Cloud Operations product team to ensure successful integration and instrumentation of operations capabilities – monitoring, alerting, performance, logging, etc… - throughout the entire CI/CD process * Collaborate across our three Cloud Engineering teams to drive innovation and improvements to our platform and how we deliver applications and experiences to the cloud * Work directly with the technologists at Target’s selected public cloud provider to drive enhancements and improvements to their platform * Design and implement enhancements to our products * Build prototypes to prove out concepts * Coach and mentor development teams on usage and adoption of our Continuous Delivery products, and overall infrastructure-as-code, test-driven development, and automation best-practices * Assess and help drive adoption of new technologies within the team and across Target * Mentor engineers on our team
Ideal Candidate
**The following skills and experience are preferred and will be deeply leveraged:** * Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies such as: Jenkins CI, and Artifactory * Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as: Chef, Puppet, and Ansible Experience with testing frameworks: ServerSpec, ChefSpec, Selenium, jUnit, Mocha, etc… * Experience building applications leveraging MongoDB, Angular.js, Express, and Node.jsExperience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, and reporting/dashboarding * Experience in building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient * Ability create clear and detailed technical diagrams and documentation * Experience with Linux and Windows systems administration * Experience with cloud-based infrastructure as a service platforms: AWS, Google Compute Engine, Azure, Rackspace, OpenStack, etc… * Experience with programming and scripting languages: Ruby, Python, Perl, bash, ksh * Experience with development using Github * Experience with test-driven development frameworks for infrastructure code * Experience with orchestration template technologies such as: OpenStack Heat, AWS Cloud Formation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, and Hashicorp Terraform * Experience with open-source telemetry solutions such as: Sensu, Graphite, Influxdb, * Experience with open-source logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana/Grafana **Requirements:** * BA/BS or equivalent experience * 5-7 years total work experience * Passion for new and evolving technologies and willing to push their application throughout the company * Ability to communicate easily with both engineers and management * Personal or professional experience contributing to open source projects * Highly productive coder; self-starter and self-motivated * Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise * Continuous learner who stays current with new and evolving technologies * Courage to learn, experiment, and even fail… provided you get back up again!
