Summary
Support waste management services for a major production plant site. Provide guidelines and training of the requirements for waste generation, storage, treatment, and shipments. Work with plant personnel to meet all safety and environmental requirements while efficiently managing waste shipments. Maintain waste management records and develop, and utilize waste tracking software.
Responsibilities
* Manage waste shipments, manifests, off-site profiles of both bulk and containers, based on dispositions to meet regulatory and permit requirements. * Communicate analytical requirements to RCRA Lab personnel, and manage analytical data provided. * Maintain off-site waste disposer profile records. * Assist waste generators and coordinate waste shipments, while providing guidance with DOT and RCRA shipping requirements of labelling, marking, placarding, etc. * Prepare waste management documentation and coordinate with on-site waste generators. * Coordinate asbestos removal and manage disposal requirements through communication with generators. * Complete regulatory reports such as LDAF Liming, RECAL II and REDAPS, and Hazardous Waste Tax. * Assist in regulatory permit renewals, updates, and monitoring submittals. * Assist in auditing for regulatory compliance.
Ideal Candidate
**Critical knowledge:** * B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or similar discipline. * 1-5 years of experience in industry, with waste management and/or regulatory compliance preferred. * Knowledge of environmental regulations. **Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:** * Strong networking, coaching and mentoring skills. Critically question and review work in the group to ensure that products meet the customers' needs. Be receptive to new ideas and be able to motivate the team to transfer the ideas into practice.
