Director, Product Management (Payments)

Symantec’s Norton Business Unit is seeking an experienced and passionate Product Leader to drive global online payments capabilities for our consumer and commercial lines of businesses. As the Product Leader, you will work closely with key internal stakeholders, the payments ecosystem manager and product owners to define the strategy and roadmap for enhancing both the payments gateway and billings platform that supports more than $1.7B in annual online transactions. You will leverage your knowledge of payments and strong product management skills to lead the prioritization and execution of work for the agile teams and the expansion of payments and billings services to other lines of business within Symantec. Finally, you will monitor the payments landscape to identify opportunities and challenges in the market that could help shape the roadmap.

* Lead the payments and billings platform vision and strategy that aligns with the global business vision and key stakeholders * Manage the ongoing development of the platform and offerings within an agile framework, ensuring that realistic, achievable milestones are set, communicated and tracked * Create and deliver business cases for all major payments and billings initiatives * Partner with the payments ecosystem manager, legal, engineering and business teams to align the roadmap and priorities within the larger team * Lead, coach and mentor a small team of product owners on agile best practices (e.g. build, groom and maintain a backlog of epic level user stories in support of the roadmap and key business value drivers, work with scrum teams to make sure requests are clear, etc.) * Prioritize work, create clarity and lead decisions on end-to-end solutions, including addressing any prioritization issues * Communicate, coordinate and influence a range of stakeholders, including senior management, business line leaders, information technology and finance teams * Create and drive proposals for expanding payments capabilities across Symantec’s business units, including identifying needs (e.g. regional acquisition and retention strategies) and understanding the cost structure for existing payment processing * Drive strategic discussions for new ideas within the team and across a diverse group of internal stakeholders

* BS/BA in computer science, MIS, business, analytical or related discipline. MBA preferred. * Minimum of 8-10 years of product management experience with a proven track record of using these skills to manage projects through the entire product management lifecycle * In-depth knowledge of product roles operating within an Agile/Scrum environment, including the ability to write clear epic level user stories * Experience in one or more of the following areas: online commerce, online payments, financial services, internet services * Strong oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on creating and delivering concise and persuasive presentations * Ability to develop visions, translate into strategies and to execute at pace * Extensive experience in leading cross-functional teams, presenting to senior leadership, and engaging external parties * Strong leadership, collaboration, influencing and organizational skills * Knowledge of all aspects of a transaction, from payment acceptance, internal financial accounting, dispute resolution, and payouts
