Data Analytics Architect

SWC Technology Partners is searching for full-time Data Analytics (DA) Architect who has the skills to architect in all aspects of a data analytics development lifecycle using Microsoft data analytics technologies. This individual will play a key role and will be working closely with our clients to provide outstanding data analytics solutions. This role is exposed to a wide range of technologies and client environments. This position will report to the Director of the Data Analytics practice.

* Collaborate with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery * Define data analytics architecture, semantic layers and Metadata repositories to support reporting and administration * Architect data solutions utilizing: MS SQL Server, PowerBI, SSAS, SSRS, integration with Excel and SharePoint, tailoring solutions for management dashboards, financial reporting and operational data analytics * Configure and optimize data analytics environments - relational, OLAP layers, data migration extract transform and load processes * Mastery of SQL and data modeling techniques and best practices including Kimball and Inmon approaches * Ensure that logical and physical data models support the analytic needs of the business * Troubleshoot data analytics problems and tune for performance. Diagnose and resolve application bottlenecks and performance issues. Define and enforce coding standards, design styles and best practices * Provide technical knowledge and business support to the data analytics team * Provide mentoring to technical leads and assume accountability of overall technical delivery

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field * 5 - 8+ years of experience architecting, developing and supporting the implementation of data analytics solutions using Microsoft platforms: PowerBI, SQL Server (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS), SQL queries, SharePoint, and Excel * Exposure to data analytics cloud solutions to include but not limited to AWS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Streaming Analytics, or Microsoft Azure SQL * Strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures * Expertise with the design of data analytics staging areas, warehouse, cubes and reporting * Experience with columnar database technologies such as RedShift, Azure SQL DW, Snowflake or other columnar technologies * Must have strong experience creating custom dashboards with PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, or Looker * Experience in the design and building of data warehouses; perform Data Warehouse tuning, collecting statistics, and analyzing SQL code performance * Must have excellent organizational, time management skills with strong written and verbal communication skills * Must be open to local travel in Chicagoland to client sites, as needed * Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
