Responsibilities

Summary

Work with Partner of Construction and Development to help oversee and execute the completion of multifamily new construction, rehabilitation and renovation work.

Responsibilites/Essential Job Duties

  • Manage construction and renovation projects at the various project sites from inception to completion.
  • Preconstruction – Manage permitting and entitlement process; working with code consultants, architects and land use attorney. Guide, direct and manage preconstruction process. Includes procurement and generation of surveys, borings etc. Budgeting of various design and construction options, and establishing final construction budgets in association with selected GC.
  • Design Development – Build and engage design team including Engineering, Legal, and Code Consultants. Lead design and entitlement processes for construction projects, as necessary.
  • Construction Management – Engage and manage third party GC’s for new construction projects. Manage bid and buy process. Oversee construction project while underway; be responsible for owner’s financial interest and budget tracking.
  • Prepare scopes of work/RFPs, review bids, let contracts, track payments, inspect work progress onsite, ensure quality control, etc.
  • Finance – Work with financing team to secure financing for various phases of the project. May include private financing, bond issues or other forms. Manage the disbursement process from lenders and to Contractors.
  • Maintain detailed project schedule and project budget at all times.
  • Such other tasks or assignments as may be required by management.
Ideal Candidate

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Powerpoint, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Project Management.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience in the Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architectural fields is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of related work experience required.
