Summary
As a member of the brand creative team, you’ll be challenged to develop and optimize the packaging of content on the web to drive maximum audience growth and engagement. This is a process-driven role in need of attention to detail and an eye for what works on the web. The role is ideal for someone with a strong digital background and experience in data-informed content production. This individual will be responsible for defining and optimizing the end-to-end digital production process, tool kit standards, and web publishing best practices. This person must be able to work collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth workflow and meet deadlines--specifically, with editorial on content calendars and final copy edits, marketing and product on page optimization, and ad operations on ad schedules. Acute attention to detail, strong organizational, and interpersonal skills are a must.
Responsibilities
* Serve as internal technical lead for content publishing and quality control: stage, test, and deploy content to live websites via the Content Management System (CMS) * Format layout and design of the content (under some direction from editorial) * Source and edit images as needed (under direction of editorial) * Optimize page titles, tags, and meta data for SEO * Source/edit and add custom social share images for all content * Curate related links both in and around content (internally for recirculation, externally, where applicable for SEO) * Utilize website best practices and key metrics to drive ongoing improvements for web-based programs * Serve as lead internal tester for all functionality related to web content: support the Project Manager in liaising with other departments as they review functionality and confirm that it meets their requirements; work with the CMS team to ensure that all bugs are appropriately addressed and all areas appropriately tested prior to launch * Train users on how to stage and migrate content in Wordpress, web publishing best practices, and QA standards * Collect and document requirements for additional CMS features; keep documentation current and accessible
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in a digital publishing environment, where the goal is audience engagement and growth * Experience in online content / web management * Experience working in Wordpress * Strong HTML skills * Basic understanding of the DOM * An eye for what works on the web * Attention to detail
