We are seeking a serious startup minded team player to join the infrastructure side of Tech and assist with growing, updating, and maintaining our infrastructure, adding and improving deployment and build capabilities, as well as participating in desktop support with the company at large.
You will work daily with the engineering team as part of the infrastructure team to keep our software flowing from concept through operations and our data flowing from our shoppers and our clients to our customers and our customer's customers. It’s key that you work well in a team setting and that you have experience implementing what works and knowing what doesn't. It helps too if you’ve seen craaaazy stuff that you will want to avoid.
Requirements
- Linux shell skills - and of automation with scripting. You know when, and why, to use a 10 line shell script or a python/perl/ruby script with modules.
- Development team experience - working closely with development teams while also managing production systems.
- Monitoring, configuration management and deployments - diverse experience in monitoring, trending, configuration and deployment management with software like nagios, new relic, graphite, puppet and chums.
- CI/CD - will have at least exploratory experience of continuous integration and deployment.
- Broad AWS experience - we have an idealized AWS infrastructure for you to get to grips with and extend.
- Software engineering awareness - some knowledge / experience of production environments featuring Python, Ruby, Java... while this is not a software engineering position, but understanding the moving pieces is key.
Nice to Have
- PostgreSQL - experience spinning up database servers, ideally including PostgreSQL.
- DNS management experience, including MX / text / spf / dkim record CRUDing.
- Experience working with vendors such as GoodData, Google Apps, Atlassian, New Relic, Heroku and a plethora of monitoring and instrumentation providers.
