Industrial Designer

- Create parametric surface models of new products and new product families in CATIA that are adaptable to change as design evolves - Develop strategies for creation of surface models of complex product families that ensure consistency and maximize efficiency of data creation. - Employ 3D Data reuse techniques to help maximize efficiency and quality of throughput Create conceptual surface models in CATIA using sub-division modeling techniques - Manage time effectively in order to support multiple projects concurrently - Adhere to company 3D modeling best practices - Use a PDM system to manage 3D CAD data - Meet product schedule deadlines - Provide technical leadership to new hires and interns.

- Strong understanding of CATIA V5 Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Part Design - Experience with CATIA V5 Imagine and Shape (IMA) - Understanding of manufacturing requirements, and how they are applied to component designs - An eye for aesthetics, and an ability to translate 2D sketches into 3D CAD surface models that accurately capture industrial design intent - Great communication & collaboration abilities with engineering. - Excellent creative problem solving. - Self motivated and a positive attitude. - Ability to work well with, and influence established teams. - Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple priorities. - Must have strong project and time management skills. - BS, BA or equivalent in Engineering/Design Technology · Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) - Experience in 3D CAD packages with a focus on Surfacing (CATIA V5 preferred) (0-3yrs.)
