* 4-5 + years VWware 5.x hands-on experience with large deployments including planning, building, and deploying workloads
* 2+ year hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services.
* 1+ years Configuration Management Automation (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack) / Infrastructure as Code.
* Solution architecture experience migrating both custom built and enterprise apps to AWS.
* Experienced with Linux distros and Windows (2008/2012) based workloads
* Experience and/or demonstrated interest in at least 3 of the following AWS services: VPC, CloudFormation, CLI, EC2, ELB, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Route53
* VWware 5.x & AWS experience
* Solid understanding of various methods to back-up hosts and virtual machines as well as DR strategies, HA, SAN snapshots, LUN replication, etc.
* Hands-on experience with large Virtual Machine deployments
* Proven implementation experience with all features of VWware including vMotion, HA, DRS, vSwitch design, SRM, advanced performance troubleshooting, command line utilities, working knowledge of the VMFS file system (including configuration and management), creating clones, images and templates, resource allocation, resource pools, and system monitoring
* Ability to implement VWware's Virtual Switch and vNetwork Distributed Switch technology; Server-side configuration to consume port aggregation, NIC teaming/bonding, VLAN trunking, port groups, etc, and Cisco Nexus 1000V
* Solid understanding of SAN technology and how vSphere is implemented with shared storage (e.g. iSCSI, NFS) strategies for performance and optimization across logical and physical network topologies
**Preferred Qualifications**
* VWware certified professional
* AWS Certified
* Experience and/or interest in developing Cloud Native Architectures.
* Experience designing configuration management solutions to enable rapid deployment of new stacks.
* Build and maintain a CI environment for building, testing, and deploying releases
* Modern CI technology (Git, Jenkins, etc…)
* Familiarity with either Python, and/or Powershell, PowerCLI scripting languages
* Familiarity with technical infrastructure services such as web, app, and db servers.
* Awareness of API based architectures, SOA, and messaging.
* Awareness of mobile based architectures
* Working within a DevOps practice / CALMS principles
* Active in technical communities, such as AWS, VMUG (VWware user group) and VWware forums or DevOps Meetups
