Sr. Electrical Distribution Engineer

Spaulding Associates is a specialized search firm offering personalized service in the Power Engineering industry and for Software companies developing products for Cloud Computing, Network Security, Data Warehousing, Data Storage and Big Data solutions.

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Engineer to play a pivotal role on the Power Distribution team of a well-established consulting engineering firm. You will be responsible for developing electrical power distribution project plans, specifications and estimates. Key functions encompass power distribution ranging from 600V to 27KV, underground utility duct bank system design and coordination, distributed generation utility interconnection, emergency generation systems, grounding system design and construction support for new construction and renovations projects.

Candidates must be proficient in bid preparations, financial tracking, power supply cost estimating, document management and will be adept in using state-of-the-art software packages such as SKM, ETAP, REVIT. Must also possess strong project management and communication skills for executing project presentations, client interface, business development, and contract negotiations.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college
• 5 – 7 years relevant electrical design engineering project experience
• PE License or ability to obtain
• Strong knowledge of national electrical codes and standards
• Prior experience with: Bid Preparations, contract negotiations, document management, resource and change management, financial tracking, cost estimating, transmission and distribution system design, environmental project constraints
• Proficiencies in current Project Management, and contemporary Microsoft software and CADD usage.
• Adept in designing power systems plans specifications and estimates encompassing lighting, fire alarm and gas detection systems
• Experienced in training and guiding entry level engineers in power distribution design
• Experienced in working with engineers, architects, clients and contractors and trades on all phases of projects
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
