Program Manager of Flight Software

SpaceX designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. The company was founded in 2002 to revolutionize space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets.

As a Flight Software Program Manager you will be at the center of scaling up SpaceX to meet our demanding certification, software and launch needs. You will serve as program manager for the Flight Software team and be a technical liaison to customers. You will interface with departments across SpaceX, map out their requirements, integrate them into a schedule, and track progress to that schedule.

• Partner with engineering groups to estimate requirements and forecast demands placed on the software engineering team.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings to customers.
• Review actions and follow-up on customer requests.
• Field customer inquiries to the maximum extent possible before tapping into additional engineering support.
• Drive cross functional process changes that improve engineering productivity and reliability of SpaceX vehicles.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of industry work experience
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering field of study

Preferred Skills And Experience:

• Must be highly technical and detail oriented
• Master’s in Computer Science or related field of study

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed
