Summary
The Associate Production Manager (APM) oversees the management of one or more front end departments for a production. Departments include Story, Script, Editorial and Visual Development. An APM reports directly into Production Manager and partners closely with the Department Lead. Direct reports are production coordinators and assistants.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and oversee the department schedule and budget, making sure deadlines met and milestones are achieved. * Maintain clear and open dialogue with Production Manager, other SPA/SPI departments and outside vendors. Provide current information to other preproduction departments. * Update status reports, sequence list and tracking documents for the department. * Ensure proper preparation for all meetings and reviews. * Take thorough notes and distribute. * Manage artist assigned and deliveries. * Ensure that artists receive, understand and execute director notes. * Manage coordinator or PA for department (assigning tasks, morale building, mentoring).
Ideal Candidate
* 3 or more years of managerial experience in feature film production environment. with an emphasis in animation and/or visual effects. * Working knowledge of the animation preproduction pipeline. * Familiarity with all aspects of production management, including budget & schedule management, personnel and performance management. * Possess excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and promote a collaborative and productive work environment. * Proven ability to work effectively in a high energy, fast-paced, ever-changing environment. **Qualifications Preferred** * Advanced Excel, Photoshop, Flix, Google docs, production tracking software
