Summary
At Slack, the Program Management team operates as a system of connectors ensuring the effective communication of risks, dependencies, priorities and program progress across the company. As the Program Manager of the Data team, you'll be working closely with Data Analysts, Product Managers, Marketers, and others across the organization to understand their needs and help prioritize those for the Data engineers. Conversely, you will also represent the Data team in requesting the prioritization of efforts to support their initiatives with those same teams. You will be the knowledge keeper for all things related to the Data program and will traffic all questions and requests.
Responsibilities
* Cross-company communication of Data initiatives, including project status, date changes, risks, and dependencies * Collect analytics requirements from internal customers, such as Product, Business Systems, and Marketing * Along with engineering leads, break down project tasks, estimate the work, and schedule based on team bandwidth * Work closely with Product, Business Systems, and Marketing teams to prioritize work to support the Data team initiatives * Representation on behalf of the Data organization when meeting with cross-functional partners (Policy, Security, Accounts, etc.) * Identify and help build operational improvements, resulting in faster development and better insights into core team metrics * Ownership of cross-team meetings - scheduling, setting agendas, meeting preparation and documentation * Synthesizing and summarization of Slack channels owned by the Data team
Ideal Candidate
* Experience managing resources, tasks, and workflows * BA degree or equivalent professional experience required * Background in managing software development or large-scale data initiatives * Previous startup or product organization experience * Ability to work independently, communicating across multiple time zones
