Data Scientist

Skillshare is a global learning community for creators. Anyone can take thousands of online classes or even teach a class themselves.

We are seeking our first Data Scientist to join the team and own our analytics. You will draw actionable insights, work across teams to track and set the proper metrics, and create visibility into our key metrics throughout the company. You are a problem solver with an inquisitive mind and strong intuition for how our students and teachers think. You will be a part of the Product Team and collaborate with all teams at Skillshare to influence strategy and roadmaps.

• Work closely with the VP of Product to draw key insights about our students and their learning behaviors
• Create data visualization dashboards and reports for key metrics across the organization
• Collaborate with all teams to track and set the appropriate metrics
• Lead research projects and apply complex quantitative analyses to improve our understanding of our community and our business
• Communicate findings and insights to the team to evangelize a data-informed culture

• 3+ years of experience working in data science
• Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation/modeling tools
• Comfort with dynamic programming languages (e.g. Ruby, Python, PHP, etc)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
