Front End Engineer

For over 14 years, Sittercity has been helping parents find the right match with over two million caregiver profiles nationwide.

You will join an experienced team of engineers that maintain the existing product and incrementally add new user and business facing features. You will work with our Product and QA team to develop the next iteration of our childcare platform. **Responsibilities:** * Maintain and enhance our existing products, including Sittercity.com, our admin application, the Sittercity Blog, and iOS/Android mobile web views. * Work closely with our creative team to concept, design, build and deliver new sophisticated and smart customer experiences. * Build beautiful responsive emails that display correctly across common mobile mail clients. * Collaborate with the entire engineering team on building standards, code reviews, internal tools and process improvements. * Research, evaluate, propose and drive the best frameworks and technologies to use. * Coach, educate and advocate front end development best standards.

**You should have:** * Passion for undertaking challenges that provide an opportunity to learn while maintaining a working knowledge of evolving front end development standards and practices. * Experience crafting beautiful, high-quality user interfaces that are both scalable and maintainable. * Solid experience using Javascript frameworks and libraries such as jQuery, Angular, React and ECMAScript 6. * Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and browser compatibility. * Working knowledge of popular Ruby frameworks. * Good verbal and written communication skills. **You get bonus points for having:** * Knowledge integrating third party API’s. * Familiarity with Git and Github. * A good eye for design.
