Database Engineer

The Database Engineer role is responsible for managing/maintaining Sailthru's MongoDB and Postgresql servers, architecture, and production deployments. You will also be responsible for construction and administration of a RESTful API service layer for interactions with the database. This is a crucial role for Sailthru, and requires someone who will uphold high standards of availability and quality of data services.

* Strategically plan future design plans and system capabilities. * Wrangle MongoDB and bend it to your will. * Verify and validate schemas and queries. * Monitor deployments for capacity, performance, and/or troubleshooting issues. * Plan and build a RESTful API service. * Participate in a 24-7 on-call rotation to ensure database system health.

You'll know this is the role for you if you have a passion for databases, used MMS or your own monitoring system, thoughtful architectural mindset, and understand the passion behind the team’s “Mission”. * 4+ years experience in a data-centric production role * Strong scripting experience * Experience with Python, JavaScript/shell scripting a plus * Knowledge of MongoDB 2.6+ * Preferably at least 1 year experience with production MongoDB * Linux experience (CentOS, RHEL), FreeBSD a plus
