Summary
The Red Hat Customer Portal Front-end Development team is seeking a design-focused web developer to join us as an intern in Raleigh, NC. In this role you will develop assets and design responsive layouts for the Red Hat Customer Portal. We'll need you to be creative, motivated, proficient in web design, and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment. This role is part of Red Hat's 2016 summer intern program, which begins in mid-May and lasts 12 weeks.
Responsibilities
* Provide design and web development support to help the team design quality user experiences * Collaborate with other UX and UI designers, web developers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility of UX and UI designs * Work with UX designers to develop new UI components and patterns for our pattern library * Collaborate with content strategists and UX designers to design and develop page layouts
Ideal Candidate
* High attention to detail * Skilled with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator * Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 * Experience with designing graphics for responsive websites * Understanding of design language and concepts; ability to design quality layouts * Familiarity with Bootstrap, LESS/SASS, and developing with component libraries and UI patterns * Experience with JavaScript is a plus * Experience with cross-browser development and testing, including desktop and mobile * Experience with developing software in a team environment using a version control platform like Git is a plus * Familiarity with development tools like Grunt, Bower, or NPM is a plus * Illustration and icon development is a plus * Must present a portfolio of UI development or graphic design work (please include links to work within your resume) * Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university or graduating no sooner than December 2015
