Summary
The Production Quality Engineer will support manufacturing by handling day to day quality issues. This person will also be the lead of QC Technicians and work as the coordinator and liaison between QC and other departments both inside and outside of the quality organization. Containments and acceptability calls will be the primary focus, with the ongoing task of managing the disposition of contained material. The Quality Technician group is in place to be the primary quality contact on all issues or concerns with day to day production. The group will be the driving force on keeping manufacturing running and will be responsible to escalate as needed to the appropriate people. The group also provides support for the company and its customers by performing quality inspections, initiating PRB meetings, performing audits and tests in accordance with established procedures and standards.
Responsibilities
* Establish how to lead Product Review Board (PRB) meetings to initiate containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventative action for process issues. * Apply statistical techniques in analysis of process and performance indicators to improve productivity, reduce scrap and minimize rework. * Perform and oversee fault injection testing and mistake-proofing verification of processes. * Monitor audits of production processes for conformance to quality checks/standards and report to management in QOS / QIP formats. * Support Quality Technical Specialist with data to determine the effectiveness of corrective actions on systemic issues. * Create and maintain systems to support the analysis of materials and process performance issues. * Executes containment actions for in-process and finished goods during quarantine of a quality issue. * Manage the disposition of work in progress and finished goods contained material. * Create and maintain QC technician training procedures in accordance with tech ladder requirements. * Support new and maintain existing Process & Product check inspection documents per control plan requirements. * Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by identifying, resolving, and escalating problems; determining system improvements and implementing changes. * Facilitate communication between functional groups, to focus on continuous improvement. * Monitor QC Tech production calls to identify workload and improve efficiency. * Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering required. * Experience and Skill Requirements 5 + years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of Automotive quality-related activities such as SPC, FMEA, and Control Plan. * Analytical problem solving techniques using quality tools, team building, and decision making skills * Good understanding of manufacturing assembly processes. * Leadership skills in project management or previous experience managing people. * Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. * Strong technical writing and presentation skills. * Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification or experience.
