Responsibilities
  • Work on challenging fundamental data science problems in the online advertising space
  • Research and investigate academic and industrial data mining, machine learning, and modeling techniques
  • Identifying, ingesting, and enriching a wide range of structured and unstructured big data into datasets for analysis
  • Operating and extending the data infrastructure platform to deliver production-grade data curation and analysis services
Ideal Candidate

Requirements:

  • MS/PhD in Astronomy, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science; or BS with several years of applied machine learning experience
  • 3+ years of full-time experience working as a Data Scientist
  • Advanced knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, and Impala
  • Advanced knowledge of python using the numpy/scipy/pandas/sklearn stack
  • Experience building interactive data visualizations via D3.js
  • Active Research interest in modern natural language processing (NLP), image processing, deep learning, Bayesian methods, and fundamental machine learning techniques
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, and analytical skills

Preferred:

  • Publications in top-tier conferences or journals in ML
  • Machine Learning competition experience
  • Experience building production-based Deep Learning systems using tensorflow
  • Experience building web applications via the MEAN stack
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Active presence in the data science community; conference speaker, author
