Summary
The Account Manager - Personal Lines is an integral part of a larger Personal Lines Management Team whose primary function is to support the daily operations of the team and to grow and maintain a profitable Personal Lines book of business by providing outstanding customer service and marketing expertise to our personal lines customers either by request or through the utilization of proactive service and sales techniques. As a Personal Lines Account Manager you can expect to gain skills, training and experiences that will allow you to continue on a career path that could include promotions to Sr. Account Manager, Managing Director, or other positions of leadership within Propel.
Responsibilities
* Perform all account transactions including applications, quotations, ID cards, proposals, summaries, endorsements, binders, billing, correspondence, etc, on personal lines accounts. * Respond to client inquires, incoming mail, company requests, and producer requests in a timely manner. * Proactively pursue cross-line sales, additional or increased coverages, and ask for referrals during customer conversations. * Perform all tasks in accordance with Propel’s and our Carriers’ standards and procedures. * Complete account reviews on returned Pre-Renewal Questionnaires, before the end of a service call, or as otherwise requested by the customer. Help customers identify gaps in coverage, offer solutions, and place coverage. * Update and maintain all client files on AMS/Sagitta computer system. Document all transactions and interactions pertaining to our customers’ accounts. * Maintain current knowledge of our carriers’ products, underwriting guidelines, and operating procedures. * Keep current with industry trends, issues, and competitive intelligence by reading company bulletins and attending department meetings. * Utilize the IBQ rating system on all new prospects and when remarketing existing customers. * Assist in the training and development of new personal lines staff and producers. * Offer assistance to team members when you have time available to do so.
Ideal Candidate
* Expertise in personal lines coverage, underwriting and rating. * Strong sales attributes. * Computer skills including Word and Microsoft Outlook. * Computer skills with various carrier systems. * AMS/Sagitta computer skills a plus. * Strong oral and written communications skills. * Has demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment. * Has demonstrated the ability to present complex insurance concepts persuasively. * Dependable. * Attention to detail. * Ability to multi-task and work under pressure. * High School graduate/College desired. * Agents Property & Casualty License required. * Prior Personal Lines Customer Service experience preferred.
