Summary
The focus of (HSM) is to increase the knowledge and influence the choice of Pfizer Hemophilia products. This is accomplished through influencing, educating and selling the value to Hemophilia Treatment Center staff (physicians, nurses, social workers, and others) and Hospitals/Key Accounts by having Pfizer products positioned favorably on formulary. HSM’s will sell the value of Pfizer and Pfizer products, support services and programs to physicians, pharmacy directors, fellows, Home Health Care organization staff, and Hemophilia chapter staff. HSM’s will educate patients and their families on the disease state and Pfizer support services.
Responsibilities
* Develops and/ or modifies business plans for assigned accounts. * Sells effectively by planning for and conducting sales calls that are engaging, focused on customer needs, highlight benefits, and enhance commitment to Pfizer products. * Sells directly to treatment center physicians and nurses on the science of the product to increase prescription volume. * Sells to specialty pharmacy & home healthcare companies’ representatives, pharmacists, and nurses so they will support and represent the Pfizer products. * Develops relationships with a wide variety of customers including nationally known physicians, nurses, social workers, foundation executives/key contacts (chapters), patients and their families, and pharmacists. This requires a high degree of ability to adapt relationship style and personal approach to suit the audience. * Works in environments where patient’s involvement in choosing their own drug is a key factor. * Balances the implementation of marketing programs with the achievement of sales goals. * Educates key hospital personnel (including pharmacy directors, physicians, P&T committee members and fellows) to ensure Pfizer products become the backbone of commonly prescribed drugs per therapeutic category. * Delivers individual and group presentations that are heavily data and science driven. * Understands Payer and federal government contracting processes. * Maintains almost daily contact with a wide range on internal HealthCare Systems stakeholders in order to maintain and grow the business.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS Degree required. MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred. * 5-10 years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred with at least three years spent in specialty sales, a promoted position and/or developmental role with demonstrated leadership across peer groups. * Experience working with key thought leaders or high influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations preferred. * This position will require extensive travel, > 40%. * Strong organizational and analytical skills are also required and ability to analyze and draw appropriate conclusions using sales data/call reporting software/applications and able to adapt to Pfizer’s long range technology model in bringing Pfizer information to market. * Consistently follows and supports company policies * Must have a comfort level with getting involved in community advocacy organizations and individual patient interactions. * Must have effective interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, and the ability to advance and influence the acceptance of ideas.
