Director of Marketing and Communications

- The Director of Marketing and Communications is the chief communications strategist responsible for the planning, management, coordination and creation of all college marketing, branding and public/media relations efforts aimed at enhancing knowledge and support of the institution. - The Director will work with diverse College stakeholders, and will coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of an annual marketing and communications plan. - Will also work with vendors to implement initiatives, integrate marketing efforts with the College’s recruitment and retention strategies, research and write news stories and disseminate to appropriate media. - Will serve as the College’s primary point of contact for non-athletic related external media relations, including all externally initiated news and publications. - Is responsible for supervising the administration of the College’s website and social media as well as the College’s Communication and Visual Identity Manual. - Will also be responsible for special event coordination such as Homecoming and Graduation ceremonies.

- Bachelor’s degree required, major in Marketing, Public Relations or Communication preferred. - Must have a minimum of five years of successful management experience in working and communicating with multiple publics. - Must be able to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external constituencies, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a thorough knowledge of principles and methods of planning and conducting a comprehensive marketing and public relations program and have prior experience developing strategic marketing plans. - Prior experience in serving as an institutional spokesperson and the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and multiple tasks is required. - Must possess a high level of competency with social media, website design and functionality, and publication design best practices.
