Summary
Peloton mechanical engineers architect, design and test hardware systems for Peloton products. This role collaborates closely with our Industrial Design, Product Management, and Operations team to concept, design and manufacture the future of fitness. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has grounded experience in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* End-to-end mechanical design of fitness equipment * Create specifications for mechanical systems, and to validate and demonstrate adherence to those specifications * Demonstrate knowledge of core manufacturing processes and work closely with a global network of suppliers to ensure quality and performance * Research and specify system level components like motors, bearings, materials, and fasteners * Write and execute test plans at the design and production phases * Assist with alpha, beta, and engineering build cycles * Develop documentation for other engineers, technicians, production, and customers * Demonstrate proactive collaboration with adjacent development teams to ensure design success, including industrial design, product management, and operations * Review mechanical parts and systems to uphold drafting standards and engineering best practices
Ideal Candidate
**Job Qualifications** * 8+ years mechanical design experience * BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent * Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools * Deep familiarity with core manufacturing methods including sheet metal, machining, casting and injection molding * Expertise with test and measurement tools * Expertise with design for manufacturing best practices * Attention to detail * Excellent communication skills, including interacting with executive management * Spoken and written English * Ability to multitask and good time management skills * Positive and high energy! **Additional Qualifications** * Experience in quality management and quality systems * Process engineering experience * Proven project or program management experience * Management experience of junior and staff team members * Experience in recruiting and retention * Specific expertise in fitness equipment or consumer electronics
