Summary
As an Equipment Specialist, you are responsible for promoting and generating dental equipment sales, products and services by regularly contacting dentist offices within a defined territory. Equipment Specialists work closely with other sales professionals to identify, qualify, and close equipment sales. Equipment Specialists initiate and manage new and remodeled dental office design projects as well as coordinate equipment installations.
Responsibilities
* Developing a “practice partner” mentality with Doctors and staff by analyzing business needs, discussing benefits and features of equipment and technology solutions, coordinating product demonstrations, explaining return on investment and tax advantages, and discussing emerging trends in the dental industry. * Utilizing computer software to draw plans for new or remodeled facility projects. * Consulting with customers in choosing real estate agents, general contractors and other service providers * Evaluating project plans and blueprints, preparing schedules and monitoring the progression of projects, coordinating with designers and sub/contractors to inspect work, and making suggestions for modification when necessary. * Being well versed on Patterson products and services, competitive intelligence and industry information. * Maintaining accurate records for prospects, customer orders, sales records, and other financial activity. * Other duties related to the position.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess a 4 year degree or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in business to business sales or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the dental industry. General computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office is required. You must also possess a valid driver's license. A strong initiative with exceptional customer service, planning and organization skills is desired. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and negotiate are highly preferred qualities. Previous success attaining and exceeding sales goals is a plus.
