Responsibilities
* Establish and manage data base leveraging detailed operator and market segment information for effectiveness in prioritizing sales actions against identified opportunities. * Scoping, design and fielding of primary market research activities as well as the analysis and reporting of findings to internal stakeholders. * Analyze customer information to assist in targeting customer segments with relevant programs, services and messages. * Investigating market activity, analyzing published data and statistics, evaluating past performance of a product and assessing of future trends. * Develops research project plan, selecting research methodology, identifying project milestones, assessing resource requirements, creating timeline, controlling costs and completing project on time. * Takes lead role in analyzing data, summarizing findings, synthesizing findings with other information already in-house, assessing information in relation to overall market research goals for product and presenting research to stakeholders. * Recommends changes and/or additions to the ERP Customer Master (e.g. SIC codes, MSA codes, etc.) that help segment customers. * Contributes to exploration and implementation of efficient and effective research methods through acquiring knowledge about product, markets, research methods, and general professional development. * Conduct additional ad hoc reporting and tracking. * Manages market research vendor relationships, keeping them on budget, on schedule and with high-quality deliverables that meet the needs and objectives of the business.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS required with emphasis in marketing, business economics, market research preferred (MBA desirable). * 4+ years’ experience in an analytical role with use of commercial transaction reporting (Nielson & NPD). * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills. * Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders and teams. * Keen business intuition, strong interpersonal skills and a team-player approach. * Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with database development and reporting tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office and common e-mail programs; strong communication and presentation skills; ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. * Ability to travel. Travel may be extensive.
