Summary

A leading media firm’s Data and Analytics group has an opening in Manhattan for a world-class Technical Analyst in the area of Big Data Product Management. Data and Analytics is one of the fastest growing fields within the firm and focuses on (1) developing platforms for managing data and performing analytics, (2) providing data and analytics services to various groups within the organization and (3) innovating in methods and algorithms used for data and analytics.

As part of the product team you will contribute to the design of the global Big Data platform. In this role, you bridge analytical, engineering and business worlds as you design technologies with software engineers, research scientists, and services teams. You have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of technical requirements for cloud based big data infrastructure components, such as APIs and data warehouses
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • Work closely with engineering team to prioritize requirements for development sprints
  • Assist QA engineers with test plan development and users with troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with operations to establish support and maintenance protocols
  • Contribute to the overall Digital Analytics Platform product vision and roadmap
Ideal Candidate
  • 5 – 8 years relevant work experience
  • Advanced SQL skills and deep knowledge of HP Vertica, Redshift, Netezza and/or PDW
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services and familiarity with Hadoop, HIVE, pig and Presto
  • Entrepreneurial drive and excellent problem-solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Subject matter expertise in digital media & analytics, including experience with data from various ad servers, bid management platforms, tag management systems, DSPs, and 3rd party data providers
  • Prior work experience as a developer a big plus
