Summary
OneBeacon is seeking two Software Developer Analysts to join our Corporate IT Team in the Salem, VA office. This position is responsible for working closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis, design and creation of quality technical solutions. Qualified candidates should have prior work experience in both client-side and server-side web application programming.
Responsibilities
* Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget.
* Develop and participate in making recommendations towards the design and development of application architecture, business systems, and IT solutions across a limited number of disciplines and functional areas.
* Conduct detailed analysis and design in support of system requirements in line with approved architectural standards.
* Collaborate with others in a variety of work settings. This involves helping to educate others on your area of responsibility, understanding the issues/concerns of other areas, and working together to solve problems.
* Effectively communicate project status for areas of responsibility to management.
Ideal Candidate
* Java Struts (MVC Framework) or Java JSF
* HTML, CSS, JavaScript
* MS SQL Server
* Familiar with writing multi-table queries
* Familiar with views and stored procedure

* Subversion (Source Control)
**Education and Experience:**
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' experience, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience. Candidates with Associate Degrees will also be considered. Insurance industries experience a plus.
