Summary
OneBeacon is seeking a Data Reporting Analyst to join our corporate Finance team in Plymouth, MN. This job is responsible for leading, participating and working independently in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of complex statistical reporting processes. Incumbent will prepare and submit various reports to internal and external parties to ensure the company’s compliance with statistical reporting requirements. The Data Reporting Analyst will be responsible for organizing, analyzing, and reviewing the data and reports to ensure they meet the needs of different regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
* Gathers data and creates reports for complex regulatory compliance reporting needs. Organizes, analyzes, and reviews data to ensure it meets the needs of various regulatory agencies. * Proactively identifies problem areas, identifies processing inefficiencies, and offers solutions. Researches and identifies cause and effect of operational problems. Solves complex system and operational problems. * Monitor changes in reporting requirements as well as identify new reporting requirements; partner with other internal departments to ensure any changes are implemented timely and accurately. * Evaluates impact of business changes on reporting processes and applications. Adheres to standards, policies and procedures. Ensures high quality project deliverables, client service, and system performance. * Communicates on a regular basis with various internal departments and external regulatory agencies; communicates across multiple departments within the company to research and collect data; interacts with various regulatory agencies for the purposes of submitting data and answering questions about previous submissions.
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, SQL, DataQuant, and/or other data profiling tools. * Preferred working knowledge of statistical and regulatory agencies including, but not limited to: ISO, NCCI, and the NAIC. * Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with strong analytical research, and problem-solving skills. * Must be able to diagnose, analyze, and solve problems. * Organized and detail-oriented: able to work well in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently. * Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines is essential. **Education and Experience:** Bachelor’s degree required. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience. Professional designations, or progress towards them, relating to statistical reporting or the insurance industry a plus.
