Summary
We are currently seeking an Actuarial Trainee to join our team in Plymouth, MN. We are accepting applications from students expecting to graduate in the Spring of 2017. This job is responsible for developing managerial information based on actuarial and financial analyses. This will include data gathering and technical programming across various databases. As a member of the actuarial team, the job will focus on one or more of reserve analysis and reserve administration, pricing analysis or stochastic financial modeling.
Responsibilities
* Develops methodologies, assumptions, and computer programs to capture, manage, and maintain accurate data for complex actuarial analyses. * Analyzes available data to determine relationships, trends, and issues. * Participates in the development of business recommendations and analysis of strategies. * Designs and generates reports and exhibits as needed. * Works with the IT department to design, enhance, and test new data sources, reports and processes.
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated proficiency with computer software including current Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and other data entry and spreadsheet applications and programs. Must demonstrate a strong mathematical aptitude, and have a growing knowledge for the insurance field. Knowledge of SQL is beneficial. **Education and Experience:** Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with emphasis in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or similar background requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis. Relevant internship experience preferred. Successful completion of at least one actuarial exam is preferred.
