Summary
Establishes and manages systems to ensure raw materials, products and processes meet OES quality standards and customer specifications. Spends 50% of time actively involved on the production floor.
Responsibilities
* Leads production teams in the identification and resolution of quality and service issues, driving root-cause identification efforts (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEAs) * Mentors Production Supervisors on quality standards and root-cause analysis * Leverages mechanical, chemical, and visual standards to test, inspect and measure raw materials, finished products and maintains a clean and safe work environment, ensuring accuracy of test data * Interprets technical documents to extract key specifications and translate them into work standards following ISO9001 guidelines * Communicates all variances from specifications and nonconformities with on-shift supervisors, Process Technicians and the Maintenance staff to address quality issues and limit production loss * Marks production with rejection or rework information if product fails to meet quality standards and records data collected during the examination * Takes ownership of auditing, verifying and documenting process standards as well as maintaining the document control system * Monitors and measures processes using statistical analysis, working hand-in-hand with production maintenance, process techs, engineering and service to implement corrective actions * Creates and issues quality, manufacturing and safety alerts to communicate production changes or issues to employees * Manages the QA Test Lab and directs QC Technician’s work performance in maintaining a clean and safe work environment using 5S principles * Key driver in writing and maintaining Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for the plant
Ideal Candidate
* 2+ years of relevant experience with materials including concrete/ polymer/ injection molding preferred but not required. * 2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing in a Quality role. * 2+ years previous management experience is preferred. * 2+ years of relevant experience in an ISO 9000 Certified environment preferred but not required.
