Responsibilities
* The Director of commercial excellence is responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining commercial sales best practices across Oldcastle Precast business units. * The Director of Commercial Excellence will act as a “change agent” and is challenged to continue moving OPI toward a customer focus and market based culture. * The director reports to the Vice President of Marketing and works collaboratively with Regional Presidents and Regional GM’s along with Regional Sale managers. * The Director will be the leader of the commercial resource team and works to optimize pricing and market share gains. * The director is responsible to improve sales management and sales force effectiveness through implementation of commercial best practices, assessments and coaching while overseeing the training of users on utilization of all commercial tools. * Position requires extensive travel throughout the United States. * Drives best practice in Account Management across the group * Drives best practice in Opportunity Management across the group * Drives best practice in Specification plan management across the group * Works with Regional and local Sales Managers and recommends methods for target pricing. * Teaches the effective use of win loss data and coaches regional and local managers on optimal target pricing and discounts methods. * Works to reinforce and coach conceptual and strategic selling methods taught in Miller Heiman training sessions and uses this tool for effective sales plan development and execution. * Responsible to coordinate with National Account Teams and National Product Groups. * Leads the implementation of NetSuite CRM role out and user adoption * Conducts sales management and business unit assessments using a “gate” system and group wide commercial metrics. * Over sees reinforcement of sales skills through periodic refresher workshops and sales rep ride alongs. Supported by commercial playbook. * National resource for commercial integration of new acquisitions and new employees.
Ideal Candidate
* Exceptional coaching and presentation skills * Proficient knowledge in Excel including use of pivot tables * Familiar with creating and tracking of quotes and proposals * Excellent written communicator * Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) * Knowledge of financial accounting and reports * Knowledge of CRM software and managing a sales pipeline * Trained in Strategic selling **Educational and Experience Requirements:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field of study. * 7+ years of work experience with responsibility for managing a sales force preferable in the building materials or contracting field. * Experience in delivering sales training
