Summary
The Raw Material Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing the order pulling operation of raw and semi-finished materials, in support of production/ manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Completes operations plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. - Develops and implements action plans to meet department goals in the areas of labor efficiency, labor utilization, housekeeping, and productivity improvements - Recommend measures to improve methods, equipment performance and the quality of material delivery and service to hit target KPIs. - Monitors Production Order queue to maintain healthy Kit Lanes. - Establish engineered standards using time study techniques. - Develop Standard Work / Standard Operating Procedures. - Engage in Oakley Lean System Initiatives. - Assist in the development of Warehouse procedures and strategies to ensure accurate transactions. - Investigates transactional and procedural problems with raw parts, subassemblies, and finished product, and make recommendations to correct. - Analyze reports such as inventory shortages, summaries and balances. - Communicates with all levels of management keeping them informed of operations as needed. - Ensures that required materials and tools are available and in working condition to meet the department's objectives. - Measures and evaluates employee performance according to company standards for quality, productivity, and career advancement. - Ensure that there is an adequate distribution of skills to enable production plan to be achieved effectively. - Actively builds leads and employee skill set to create a cross functional workforce and increase efficiencies. - Stimulate teamwork within his/her departments. Creates a fair and positive environment that fosters a solid work ethic and maintains a good team attitude within the group. - Maintain and monitor a clean and safe work environment (5S). - Ensures that physical condition of the warehouse is being maintained through appropriate cleaning policies, and coordinating with facilities to consistently inspect the condition of equipment, racking, etc.. - Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols; works closely with Security and Environmental, Health and Safety departments. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering or relevant discipline, required - Minimum of 3 years of supervisory level experience in a fast-paced warehouse environment. - Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience, desired. - Experience in a high volume and multiple shift environment, desired - Proven track record of individual accomplishment, contribution and team based success. - Demonstrates excellent organizational skills, can synthesize problems and easily report them to management - Creative and innovative when looking for solutions for start-up problems, and provides idea's for technical or organizational improvements - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects. - Ability to influence others. - Developed computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn other systems (SAP). - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate and listen effectively at all levels. - Self-motivated with high sense of urgency, resourcefulness and adaptability. - Strong customer orientation
