Summary

As a Web Developer at Novus, you will be responsible for all things digital on the Marketing team. Your main focus will include the management and improvement of the Novus website. This includes everything from planning redesigns to implementing custom features that improve the sites user-experience. If you’re the right engineer, you’re the type of person that lives and breathes everything dev. related.

In this role, you will oversee all web development projects and be responsible for continuously improving and enhancing the website and the CMS system hosting it. You will also be expected to source and select vendors, suppliers or any freelance talent needed to execute development across various areas.

You will report directly to the VP of Marketing, and be based in New York, NY.

Responsibilities
  • Regularly produce website pages and features to enhance and optimize the overall user-experience of the Novus website
  • Ability to hand-code standards-compliant HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS code
  • Edit or create HTML emails, web pages and other digital templates to match design specs
  • Customize or build features on CMS systems – preferably Wordpress
  • Analyze website behavior, A/B test and optimize to increase conversion rates as well as other engagement metrics
  • Provide technical analysis and monitoring of website infrastructure, performance and stability
  • Represent a mobile-first mentality and ensure that our sites are as delightful and effective across various mobile devices, platforms and screen sizes
  • Collaborate with visual designers and content strategists to solve complex problems with elegant and always on-brand digital solutions
Ideal Candidate
  • Exceptional HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT and PHP coding ability
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to deliver exceptional web designs – including delivering great user experiences
  • Strong experience working within content management systems, ideally ones that are Wordpress-based
  • Visual design skills are a big plus
  • Great communication skills – able to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical individuals
  • Understanding SEO/SEM best practices is a plus but not needed
