Responsibilities
**Position Overview** * We are currently seeking a Laboratory Associate for our Core Lab located at Evanston Hospital. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Hours will be scheduled on the 3rd Shift (nights) from 10:30pm to 7:00am and rotating weekends. **In this role, you will:** * Collect and label multiple sample types * Perform chemical analysis on specimens * Centrifuge and aliquot specimens * Take volumes on timed samples * Order and record test results in lab computer system * Perform, monitor, and document quality control for all testing * Perform and document routine instrument maintenance and calibrations; troubleshoot instrument problems * Process samples referenced to outside laboratories
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a Laboratory Science, which includes the requisite courses to meet CLIA requirements. * MT/MLS(ASCP) or MLT equivalent certification within 6 months of hire or promotion. Ongoing certification is strongly preferred. * MLT external candidates has to have four (4) years of experience in a healthcare setting of comparable complexity; internal candidates have to have three (3) years of experience
