Senior Backend Engineer

Nimble Collective is an end-to-end solution for artists who want to create, collaborate, and distribute their animated content. We are disrupting the $90 billion animation content market by building the industry’s first cloud-based, platform where a full animation workspace can be accessed through a web browser.

Nimble Collective seeks a prolific, passionate, driven Senior Developer to design and implement our backend service-based architecture. You will be instrumental in designing the services that control the flow of data in an animation pipeline, working closely with our pipeline and frontend engineers. Understanding of Computer Generated Imagery process is a bonus.

• 7+ years experience in backend web architecture and development
• Expert knowledge with UNIX/LINUX
• Proficiency in designing and implementing REST APIs/Web Services
• Experience in building and scaling microservices architecture
• Software engineering proficiency with design patterns and object-oriented programming
• Experience with multiple programming languages including Python
• Familiarity with security principles, using SSL protocols and data encryption
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization services
• Knowledge of relational database development and administration
• Experience with source code control, ticketing systems, document collaboration tools
• Experience ensuring quality applications through test driven development
• Experience with Django REST Framework
• Experience with frontend web development tools, JavaScript, JS frameworks
• Experience with eCommerce platforms
• Experience integrating animated content creation tools such as Maya into pipelines
• Implementing or working with content approval and staging workflows
• Working with multiple delivery platforms
• Experience with graph databases
