Software Engineer - Android

Nextdoor’s mission is to use the power of technology to build stronger and safer neighborhoods. We are an early-stage Internet company backed by Benchmark, Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Tiger Global Management, as well as other investors and Silicon Valley angels. Our product is a private social network for neighborhoods where neighbors get to know one another, exchange advice, and communicate about local issues.

We're looking for a passionate, excited Android developer with a strong desire to build fast, simple, and beautiful mobile apps matched with a passion for bringing a sense of community back to the neighborhood. You will be a technical leader on a small team of developers and designers working on our award-winning mobile application.

* Design and develop beautiful code for Android * Provide architectural and technical leadership on developing our core mobile platform * Lead development efforts on mobile product features on Android * Help scale our mobile platform as we experience massive growth

* 2+ years of Android development experience and 5+ years industry experience * Passionate about the Android platform and mobile development space * Experience in Automated testing / TDD * Expert level Android-specific domain, Java programming, and experience leading full lifecycle of application development from whiteboard through Google Play release. * Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment * Passion for Nextdoor’s mission
