Summary
The Netflix marketing legal team is hiring a manager of music to help negotiate music licenses and advise internal marketing and PR teams on best music practices pertaining to their projects. You love everything music. You spend your free time searching the Internet for the next great artists, and nerding away on musicology. You know everyone in the industry; the record labels, the publishers, artists, managers, agents, unions, studios, networks, agencies, marketing teams, producers, post producers, editors, and directors. You have contacts for that obscure track from the 1970s and you’re ready with alternate tracks to suggest if it doesn’t clear. You think having several different licenses (synch, master, mechanical, etc.) for the same work makes complete sense and don’t think twice about a 7-way ownership split for a side of a song. In addition, you love working in an environment where freedom and responsibility is a tenet, and passion, innovation and curiosity are mandates. You have incredible soft skills to compliment your diligent work ethic. You seek an environment that places thoughtful efficiency over process yet you know how to work with organizations or institutions who may not hold the same beliefs. Your innate ability to maintain organization fuels your effectiveness in successfully juggling multiple projects. This deck outlines how you always thought a company should be run. This role is based in Beverly Hills, joins an already existing Manager, Marketing Music, and reports into the Marketing Legal Group.
