User Experience (UX) Designer

As an mStoner User Experience Designer you’ll be working within a multidisciplinary team of strategists, visual designers and UI developers to deliver the best websites in Higher Ed. Your responsibility will be to create high-quality, user-centered design from early concepts through to detailed specifications and prototypes. Your focus will be to create the best digital experiences for our clients’ key audiences while balancing business goals and user needs. You’ll need to have the ability to respond to change in a fast moving environment and be passionate about getting things made, not just designed. Delivering an outstanding product is important to you, so you follow the project through start to finish — from strategy through design to CMS implementation. - Develop personas, user journeys, interaction models, user task flows and UI specifications - Design wireframes, mockups and website prototypes as needed - Conduct focus groups to understand user needs and desires - Write, manage and conduct product testing sessions including concept testing and usability testing - Use data and analytics to inform design decisions (typically Google Analytics) - Review design comps for quality assurance prior to client presentations. - Review creative design, HTML/CSS, beta websites, and live websites against accessibility standards laid out in Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 - Work with the Senior Creative Director, Visual Designers, Front End Developer, and UI Developers to map and execute creative concepts and complex user interactions - Ensure design solutions solve key user scenarios established in project objectives - Work closely with Project Strategist to identify key research points that address user behavior and attitudes - Work closely with Technology Lead to ensure complex interactions are achievable within client’s CMS - Be the user advocate

- 5+ years of experience - Professional knowledge of user-centered design, usability principles and techniques - Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of visual designers, developers, strategists and project managers - Proven experience in visualizing and prototyping website concepts to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and test ideas - Ability to think big while being detail-oriented and delivery-focused - Ability to communicate complex information in plain language - Strong organization skills - Excellent communication skills (verbally and written) - Advanced knowledge of Adobe CS, Sketch, inVision, Axure, Keynote and Webflow or other Web - Prototyping tools - Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript **Attitudes** - Self-motivated - Capable of inspiring colleagues and clients - Outgoing, personable, sociable and easygoing - Open to criticism from your team to benefit project development - Always eager to learn and to share knowledge
